Hi All, I am almost 22 weeks pregnant and have been considering home birth options along with a water birth. I have adopted the services of a doula and now looking for a midwife. I know I could use the community midwife service but like the idea of knowing who I will see on the day as well as getting someone who is pro home birth/ limited intervention etc. However I am struggling to find more than 4 or 5 local to me...Also is it better to go with one from a registered business e.g. East York Storks or for a self employed independent practicing on their own? Not sure of the pros and cons and need to decide pretty fast so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
