Implantation Bleeding??

Can implantation bleeding be mistaken for a period? can it appear at the time your period is due or is that too late for it to be implantation bleeding?

When I got pregnant with Elliott I had implantation bleeding on day 21 of a 24 day cycle so naturally I thought it was AF but it was browny and slight and never got heavier so I then started to think otherwise but not until I'd drowned my sorrows in half a bottle of red wine which I worried about for the rest of the pregnancy!

Have you had some? Hope it's that
