Question about implantation bleeding

Please could anyone help with this question. If you are experiencing implantation bleeding then does that mean you would NOT get a positive pregnancy test yet?

Or put another way - if you have already got an early but very clear positive pregnancy test then would this rule out any light dark brown spotting being due to implantation?

I understand that implantation triggers the Hcg and that from that point Hcg starts to rise, but if you are at the implantation bleeding stage then would you still be testing NEGATIVE?
