Can't you get a job to help pay the bills? And your partner work more hours as well. That way you would earn between you more than you get on benefits and hence would be able to afford to stay where you are or rent somewhere better??

There are no jobs in our town and OH doesn't drive...we struggled when we both worked too, plus when the baby is here i want to stay at home with the baby.
The council round here are really bad too, i never had nowhere to live before i got this house...i lied and said i had stopped on a park bench one night and they wouldn't help me.x

If i don't get anywhere in a few month...i'm going to have to look for another private house but they are hard to come by too especially ones that allow DSS x

my brother moved back in with my mum and dad after living in private rent from 16 years old to 20, and he got offered a house in 6 weeks, maybe it would be worth a try hun xx

My dad has spoke with the councilor of our town and he said definitely not to give the house up...as they will see through it and not rehouse me as it is a 3 bedroomed and the baby can be in a room with us even though its a box room. I am going to go to see the council tomorrow...or make an appointment. I have just thought... there is mould in the room that would be the nursery, is that harmful? x

I think you should definately go and speak to your council hun. I moved back with my parents a few years ago, with my little girl, and because their house is a 3 bedroom, and there wasn't any spare bedrooms for me and daughter, I went to the council and said please help, I'm staying with my parents and it's overcrowded and my mum has asked me to leave. The council rang my mum and mum had to write a letter saying yes she'd asked me to leave, and they put me in Band 1, just had to bid on properties each week until one came up that was suitable. It didn't take very long at all. Oh, can I just say that I had to practically force my mum to say she was kicking us out! She wasn't very happy with having to say that at all, bless her. But it worked in the long run. Hope you get sorted before baby gets here.
