My son is 2 and a half, he has had problems with constipation but has been on medication for the last 3 months which is working really well, that isn't the issue.
When going to the doctors last week she commented on how thin he is, he was chubby when he was born but as soon as he started walking he lost the chub.
LO eats really well, has lots of fruit and veg and eats treats too.
I decided to weight him today and myself (since getting pregnant I've lost 7lbs:dance:) Last time I weighed LO was june 2010 (he eats well and apart from constipation is really healthy, so didn't feel the need to weigh him) since june LO has only put on 3lbs!! I'm horrified and extremely worried!!!!!
Surely it's not normal for him to put on so little weight!!
He weighs about 2 stone now.

Please help!!!

I seriously wouldn't worry about weight!! My daughters nearly 5 and she's only 2st 6lb's. She's only gained 2lb's in a year!! She eats very healthly but also eats crisps and chocolate too but she just doesn't gain weight!!

I'm the same with my daughter she is 3 and 7 months and she only weighs 2st 2lbs, your son sounds fine to me. Grace was only 24lbs when she turned 2. So in in 19 months she has only put on about 6lbs! She is a light eater some days then others she will eat well. I have never had a doctor say they were worried about he weight except that she looks petite. She is actually tall for her age, so she looks tall and thin and this is what my hubby is like, although he was a chubster as a baby!

Grace was also a chubby baby but it just fell off when she started to walk, she is a very active child so I'm not too worried as I know she eats.

Thank you! DS is tall and I think that makes him look thinner. He doesn't get sick very often so I thought that if he was underweight he would be quite weak and unwell.
Thank you for making me feel better! xx

I wouldn't worry hun x If he's healthy, not lethargic, running around, and alert I doubt it's anything to worry about x My OH was very chubby, but once he was walking turned super skinny. Even now he's classed as underweight! He's nearly 6 ft and only 8 and a half stone.. Very thin x But it's normal for Him, and probably for your LO too x The "normal" guidelines doctors go by is just an average, doesn't mean that theres anything wrong with not being a certain weight xx

Amy is 14 months and probs just weighs about 21lb probs less last time I got her weighed she was 19 lb she eats alot but coz shes more active she doesn't really put much weight on she walks mostly everywhere we go unless I'm going to hospital for scans or food shopping she goes into her pushchair I think they put less weight on now as there active then start putting it on when they start school I noticed this with my lil bro he never really ate much when he was s toddler but was still gaining weight even though it was a few onces a week but since he started school because there not really active that much he started to eat well and was really putting the weight on he's at middleschool now he's not over weight or fat he's just got these chubby cheeks lol which aren't to big iykwam it's probs coz I don't get to see him much but when I do he's changed an awful lot lol
