Hi just a quick question, i just opened my post and seen that i have been paid £500 for maternity grant! does this need to be paid back? im a bit worried about getting into debt x

No the maternity grant doesn't have to be paid back.

i've applied for mine today but m/w has put due date as my DOB so i've changed it so prolly get queried

You must be able to get it for each child Jo because its double for twins ...I don't have the form here though anymore...just phone Dss up and ask for a sure start grant form though, mine arrived the next day.

yep its 29 weeks worth phoning up for your form before as your m/w needs to sign it

hi jayceesmumma, i got my mw to sign mine at 27w4d and sent it off and the payment gets processed on the 29th week, so i should get mine some time next week, it can only be sent when you are over 27 weeks pregnant.

also i downloaded mine off the net, i'll just get the link for you:

you just print it off, then go get you MW to sign and stamp and also get a prestamped envelope from your local postoffice for free for your local social security office.
