how can I get hard icing for things like gingerbread men?

you can buy little tubes of it in supermarkets, or make it using icing sugar and water, just use only a tiny bit of water and use a icing bag.

Thanks but does it go hard? I must have been adding too much water before as it was squishy

I ice mine with the tubes of ready made writing icing and it goes hard

if your using icing suagr, use only a teeny weeny bit of water, it will seem like it wont mix to begin with but it does eventually and makes a thick paste that will go hard. Hope your showing us the biscuits!!!
