The last 5 days I have had a sudden intense sharp kind of pain around my trmple on the tight hand side but very breif (only a couple of seconds) along with my right eye watering, which from what I've read is called an ice pick headache. As I worry about everything, I was just wondering does anyone else experience these or anyone know about them? Is there a cause for them? Could there be a problem? Sorry for another worrying post. I've never really suffered from headaches and if I do 1 paracetamol does the job- so this is very odd for me. Thank you for any advice.. X

I'd go GP to check and make sure esp with not having any headaches normally . I have similar pains + re occurring migraines since pregnancy. I was dying with migraines throughout ad obvs seen a doc they claim it's hormones. I think it's the flu jab, my nan started having migraines after the flu jab. 35 years later she still does. Think about if anything has changed recently diet, medication?

It's always worth getting checked out if you're worried enough, though if you know that's you're a bit more stressed/anxious then obviously this can aggravate them.

I would try drinking plenty of fluid during the day as this will help lots and maybe take something like migralieve- a lot stronger than paracetamol and usually shifts any of my migraines (I've suffered on and off for years)

Xx

I thought maybe try drinking and eating a bit more. I have been stressed lately. I'm just scared as I've never suffered before. And they're so strong it's terrifying! They only last a few seconds which is weird, I think I'll go to a dr for my peace of mind and re assurance! Thank you for your advice xx

When I was 30wk preg and 32 I had crippling migraines that I don't usually suffer with. Awful symptoms like numb on one side blind in one eye seeing things headaches etc. Went to labour ward for the night. After getting out I was super stressed something more serious might be wrong as they said that's what they were looking for even though they **** scan to be 100% they didn't think anything worse. A few days after being that anxious I had them exact head pains very sharp like stabbing but only a couple of seconds 5-10 times a day every day for 5 weeks!! And eye problems. Think it's hormones. Went to docs they looked at my eyes and said no signs of anything more serious. So just wanted you to know your not alone. Aching in and around my eye too. It can be quite scary cos they never give you a hundred percent answer n obviousy it makes people think of the worst. Just wanted you to know your not alone. If you had any medical advice can you let me know because it's been about a fortnight mine have been a lot less but I'm still stressing about it lol xxx

Well it's not nice you are suffering but its nice that I'm not alone.. I saw a very nice lady dr who was very understanding, she said because I had no other symptoms that's would suggest a serious problem she is 99% sure it's nothing to worry about. She did however say it sounds like a nerve, perhaps trapped nerve??(I don't know if it's because I also get pins and needles in my arms and legs) She said if I get the pains elsewhere in my body, nausea, weakness etc then go straight back or if I'm still having it in 2 weeks again go back and they will look in to it with tests. Like you I'm still worrying there's something serious wrong. I do wear glasses so will also go to the opticians see what they say as my eyes aren't as good as they have been. Xx
Also I think I could describe it like an electric shock in the side of my head..

I started getting these in October it was so sharp and severe I was sure it was a brain aneurysm or something went to out of hours doc at hospital and then my gp, they think its neuralgia, possibly due to a trapped nerve caused by bad posture feeding my son, bending over cot etc and also due to tiredness, they started me on medication but it made me so groggy I couldnt take them anymore
