YAY! 8 days past my due date and. . .
for three or so hours now I've had regular (but mild) contractions. It's all very slow but I'm so happy that something is happening as I'm booked in for an induction on sunday and really don't want to have to go to hospital to force her out!

wish me luck!! (eek)

**update**
hey there, a few hours later and I'm still contracting regularly - but still very mild. I've got my tens machine on and I've rang the hospital just to let them know that hopefully at some point I might need a midwife to come out (hoping for a home birth :) ).
I defo think it's happening, just very slowly! I'm going to rest a bit now but I hope things ramp up soon and I'm not still mooching along tomorrow morning
Thanks everyone for your well wishes!!

Aw best of luck hun, hope it moves a little faster soon

good luck! hope you are holding your baby soon :D

Best of luck  have my fingers crossed it's all starting for you  :cheer:

good luck hun, get bouncing on a birth ball, walking or a nice hot bath speed things up. fingers crossed for you.

xxxxx

Good luck, i hope to be joining you soon

Good luck. Hope it works for me too, going for my sweep tomorrow.

Good luck eightball! Stay mobile it's supposed to speed things up! But don't exhaust yourself! Sounds like baby is ready to put in an appearance! :cheer:

goodluck hope baby comes soon

Ohhhh good luck hun, and as Jacky said, keep mobile, have you got a big ball to sit on? that should help.

Wow Siobhan - good luck, here's hoping for a quick and easy labour!

Oooh good luck eightball - can't wait to hear all about it!

Valentine xxx

Oooh eightball - hope that you're still contracting away! Prepare yourself though - it could take "forever" yet. If you're not having back pain though, then chances are that it's not going to be one of those horrendous, prolonged, "back-to-back" labours. Hopefully, you'll have your LO this time tomorrow!

I hope you manage your home birth too...

awww im so happy for you,
i really do hope it happens soon hunni
you lucky woman :)

Hi Robyn,

what are we like, eh? I was just thinking there that only another pregnant women (well, one at the END of her first pregnancy) could think that someone having contractions was "lucky" :D

Aww, it just shows how fed up you are with waiting. I know it seems like it's been forever (my pregnancy does too at times and I'm way behind you), but this is the last few days in your life where you won't be somebody's mum. Can you believe that? For the rest of your life, after your LO arrives, you'll be a mum. Even when he's 40! :D

So all too soon, you'll look back on being pregnant and it'll seem like no time at all and, sometimes, you'll wish that you'd been able to relax and enjoy those last few days of "freedom" (but of course, you're just too big, uncomfortable and impatient to see your baby to enjoy anything, right?). you'll have your time in labour very soon - and everyone here will be thinking, "Lucky Robyn!"

'Hope it comes soon for you. I just wanted to say, "Hi".

xxxx

Hope things happen for you soon! :cheer:

Girls, enjoy the last weeks of your pregnancy - and make the most of getting full nights sleeps instead of sleep for 2 hours, wake for an hour, sleep for 2 hours, wake for an hour until it's morning again... :) honestly! x and get pictures of yourself every day from 39 weeks on - you'll be amazed to see the shape and weight changes after 1- waters break, and 2- baby is born! x
