done lots of tests today, lots of faint lines, just done a first response and its definately there. im so excited but so scared- i wont relax until iv seen its little heart beat (fx)
how do i calculate my due date? my last af was 17th january and my usual cycle is 36days. on the baby centre pregnancy calculator it says ill be due on halloween (taking into account my cycle length) on some of the others it says 23/24th october
i have to tell my work straight away as its a high risk job- how long would i need to wait to rule out a chemical pregnancy? they might be annoyed if i say i am and im not straight away
ty xxx

Congratulations ...Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy. Nice to see you here! :cheer:

Congrats :)

Go from the first day of your last period is how to calculate

Visit this website and enter that date in to the second option and it will give you your estimated due date.

Does not matter how long your cycle is. Its a one size fits all approach now with the first day of last period calculation.

If your work is high risk, I'd tell someone asap you have had a postive PG test but its still early days and that you will let them know if things change. That way you have covered yourself but can notify them if it turns out to be a chemical pregnancy or something.

Congratulations!!

Try this pregnancy calculator, it lets you put in your cycle length.

The midwives will use the first date of your last period but if you have longer than average cycles then your due date will be different to what they work out, as it's based on an average cycle length.

For instance I had a 42 day cycle, but I put myself 2 weeks back as I knew I'd ovulated late and I was spot on with my dates when I had my early scan.

Hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

Interesting. I have a much shorter cycle than the average but it didn't alter my due date in the least when it came to scans and dating. As I was not a week out either way they left it where it was.

the only reason i asked is because i think ovulated 14days ago, and my lmp was 17th jan. im on day 39 today, last pregnancy i got my bfp on day 22 so i have a messed up cycle!!
i wanted to add a ticker so i wanted to get it right!!
i tried baby centre that says 31st october 4w2d
the nhs one says im 5weeks theres not alot in it
what shall i set my ticker to?

ok good idea!, actually i think i will set it for the latest date- after the m/c last time hopefully getting put forward would be better then being set back! :) like u said i can adjust it, i will probably try to get an early scan if this one sticks as i never got to see our last baby and i think i wouldnt want to be in that position again, i think a piccie would of made grieving a little easier...but im gonna try and be positive xxx ty girls

Welcome and congratulations!

I agree that ovulation date is more reliable than the lmp if your cycles are longer than the average. It makes more sense to me that's all

Sherlock even though you have shorter cycles than the avg, maybe you ovulated late on the cycle you conceived or maybe your luteal phase is shorter which would compensate for the short cycle. Hope this made sense!

Gerb baby glue! take care

xx

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: whoo ho Gerb...another stalker with a bfp

your midwife will probably give you an EDD of 23rd Oct based on the first day of your last period but your dating scan will probably put you a bit later than that because of your cycle length.

When you are given a date by the midwife it's always based on the first day of your LMP and doesn't take into account your cycle length. If you know what date you OV'd from temping then that's a more realistic dates.

Good luck for a H&H 8 months

Thanks :) I know exactly when we bd and don't think I ovulated later because of the dates etc. Don't think it would have been possible

congrats hun, that looks like my 1st first response test i did :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

thanx girls i havent seen the doc or midwife yet! i think ill probably have an early scan hopefully baby will be ok and i can adjust the date accordingly
