I think I may have been underestimating the pain.

Hi hun- I don't know how 'bad' it may be as it's my first but I have been using the natal hypnotherapy cd's and find they really do help with trying to stay calm about it all. The theory behind it makes a lot of sense and I think u may benefit from at least reading about it.......

This is where I started, by reading this............

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/women_shealth/8333728/Forget-gas-and-air-give-me-a-hypnobirth.html

Google 'natal hynotherapy' or 'hypnobirthing' for more info.

The biggest thing I'm taking from it is that your body knows how to birth your baby and the more u can stay calm and relaxed the better u will enable your body to do so and because u are relaxing all your muscles and breathing correctly it gives your body all the oxygen it needs and allows your labour to progress more efficiently!...............I don't know how well it will work for me, but def feel it's worth a try!.........I'm not ruling out other methods of pain relief at all, but I think u could use the principles of natal hypnotherapy no matter what type of birth u have!

Hope that helps xxx

It's like self hypnosis to help deal withthe pain :)

Oh right okay is it only for people who want a natural childbirth?

No, anyone can use it babe.. I intend on having an epidural for the last stage and I'm gonna try and use it to manage the rest of it.. Maybe even the end stage too! I don't know, but I know I want to know when the latest I can have an epidural is..
I'm not gonna rule out anything just gonna go with the flow :)

I know when I got to 8 with both girls I wanted one but it was too late..

Gonna put it in my birth plan I want to be regularly checked and told when I can have one the latest :)
