I swore I'd never...

I said I would never
. Leave the house not wearing make up
. give my baby chocolate and crisps as treats
. bite my babies nails instead of using a pair of nail cutters
. buy him something every time i go shopping

Im sure theres more i cant think of any lol

Gonna try and do this without reading all the other confessions first :)

My child would never be creating a scene in a restaurant

My child would never have a dummy

My child would be taught from an early age that no means no

My child would never be left with an electronic babysitter

My child will never sleep in bed with me

Hmmm all these apart from the last one have been broken with my daughter and now my son is lucky enough for me to have broken that one with him :rotfl:

Got another one-

I swore I'd never compare my baby with any others but I'm ALWAYS looking at other babies & secretly thinking ooh mine's cuter/can do that better/etc!!! :D

Definitely do this one! OH and I went to baby massage a couple of weeks ago and as we were walking home, he said - "ok, I know I'm biased, but how much cuter and more beautiful is our daughter than any of those babies"! I had to agree :rotfl: .

Valentine xxx

I'm guilty of this too :D

hahaha brillint thread!

i swore id breastfeed... didnt do it once (medical reasons), but now realise it was deffinatly best for me otherwise id have died cos she eats far, FAR too much)

The t.v. thing also! hannah loves jeremy kyle (seriously) and cbeebies ALREADY i swear she'll sit there for AGES watching them and talking to them. Makes me feel guilty - but tbh i interact with her all day anyway (as its just me and her) so the odd half hour here and there gives me a bloody good rest. (and time to get on with other stuff)

Also healthy food - ive had to ween hannah early cos shes already the weight/height of an average 6-7 month old, i thought i would make all my own, but i dont (tho i do atleast a few times a week - plus i get excited giving her new things like chocolate pudding, sweet porrige etc - cos her expressions and she just LOVES food. (she 'opened' her mouth straight away when feeding of the spoon - shes a total natural - never spits it out.)

I wanted to be a harsh mum (lol) and thought control crying is a MUST. but to be honest im crap at it. On the very VERY rare occasion that hannah plays up at 8pm bed time i put her in the cot crying but 5 mins in i give up, cuddle her, and calm her till she falls asleep in my arms.
bloody usless me.

me and OH are DEFFINATLY like this everyday   :rotfl:

The 3 things I didn't think I'd EVER do, where;

Give him a dummy (though now he won't take one haha me  )
Compare him to other babies  how hard is it not to!?
Let him watch TV  he just LOVES GMTV and Dancing shows :D

I don't think any of the above are bad things, but before having him I felt they were just terrible, it's nice to know they're not really

I always said I would never go to the town with a buggy as it's always heaving with them and I was so sick of being hit on the ankles by grumpy red faced women pushing grumpy red faced screaming babies!

Unfortunately I joined the masses, or I'd never have left the house

I thought I'd never 'give in' to her crying....although halfway round woolies earlier and she was having none of the soothing, I gave in & got her out the buggy and carried her  just to stop the crying as she just wanted a cuddle

my children were never going to:

have dummies (two out of three did/do)

eat baby food from a jar (  :rotfl: )

have formula (  )

get sweets/chocolates (yeah, right! :rotfl: )

get shouted at in public. my kids were always going to obey every word I said without question and I would never be one of those exasperated parents you see out and about who (in my naive opinion) seemed unable to 'control' their kids. (  this was the big one! I totally forgot to take into account that my kids would have their own personalities and like all kids, would love to push the boundaries, at home AND in public)

here a swear word come from my mouth (   )

watch telly ( nowadays I thank the Lord for Cbeebies! )

I do this all the time, I feel pretty stupid carrying the baby and pushing round an empty buggy but it's better than pushing round a whiney baby who doesn't want to be strapped in the buggy thank you very much!
