But let me ask another one anyway...

Where exactly do you ladies place your doppler when you use it? Just above your pubic bone, right?

because if you place it above your belly button, it's not the baby's heartbeat you will hear, but your own, isn't it?

please tell me I'm right so i can prove my OH wrong. besides, the baby's heartbeat is clearly supposed to be twice as fast as my own, correct??

yea listen to yours then when u find babys u will notice difference.

mines gotta be places in between pubic bone and belly button i only hear babys now not mine :) but im using prenatal

I is much further down than you might expect - particularly in the early stages. I first heard mine just above bikini line and it is really fast - def will be about twice yours and they all seem to swin away when you check so you probably won't hear it for long.

If you place it just above the bikini line you should be able to hear it but watch out because there are lots of blood vessels around too on either side and that's a wee bit slower. Also I didn't really hear anyting until I was about 12/13 weeks. If I put the doppler just under my belly button I can hear bubs really clearly but I'm nearly 24 weeks. A few weeks ago I definitely had to go much lower.

Good luck and happy searching.
