Hi all, since being pregnant every name I liked I know hate. I am looking to have a a Welsh name for my littel boy or girl and I was it to be something traditional. Nothing that has been shortened or modernised in anyway.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Not 'pure' welsh but my boys have names more popular in Wales; Owen and Ellis

Those names are lovely! I like loads of names, but never seem to think they are right for me.

Carys, Cerys, Rhiannon, Bethan...
Dylan, Osian, Rhys (Reece), Harri, Idris....
Try googling welsh names, there are loads of sites with more unusual names than I can think of at this moment lol! Xx

Nerys is on our girls list. My hubby is welsh but neither of us like many "proper welsh" names!

I love Celtic names, and would try to get one if my OH wasn't ethnically Indian and thought it would be a bit too weird..

Some Welsh names from fiction books I liked - Rhodry (boy) and Eirlys (girl) - last one means Snowdrop, Eilonwy (she's a princess in that book).

Another Welsh girl's name from one book that's not quite my cup of tea but maybe someone else would find it pretty is Nia.

Or if you're looking for something fanciful - Cerridwen (girl).

My son is called Morgan, which is welsh although it has become popular as a girls name too :(

I've chosen Seren for a girl and Osian for a boy. Just got to convince OH now lol
