I haven’t had my midwife appointment yet, what do I do?

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant it’s around 6 weeks since my last period but I’ve taken a clearblue test and that says 2-3 weeks I’m a little confused on whether I am 6 weeks pregnant or not even a month pregnant! Also I’m experiencing a little bleeding, it’s only light, like the last few days of your period. Is this normal?

Clear blue does weeks from conception not your missed period. So they are normally two weeks or more behind where you are. Hormone levels are also wildly different for all women so they aren’t often that accurate.

Light bleeding is very common in early pregnancy. It is often implantation bleeding. So when the egg has implanted and little bit of blood has come away. Can also be from the cervix due to hormones and increased blood flow. So long as the bleeding is light (more spotting) or when wipe and not enough to fill a pad then all is generally well. If it was to become bright red and heavy and/or clots that would be when you needed to be checked. If you contact your gp they will advise of can self refer to midwife or will set up an appointment for you. Good luck and congratulations xx
