ok.. little worried here, earlier, as i said i heard the heartbeat about an inch below my belly button to the left.. i was just having another go seing if i could get s stronger HB and decided id explore a little and i found another heartbeat about two inches from my pubic bone on the other side lower down, it was clear as day so i went back up to the first heartbeat and it was slightly slower by 2 bpm but yes there IS two.. it was at 151 bpm im a little worried as twins are in the family.. coiuld this be or is this just me?? any advice apprechiated xxxxxx

Have you had your first scan yet?

Maybe worth mentioning to your MW and at next scan.

Not to scare you but there was a post on my freecycle last week that was for a woman who had given birth to twins that had not been picked up on scans etc, so it could happen but Im sure that they thourghly check these things as my scans note 'single' baby.

Its defo not your heart beat or an echo of LO's :?

Sorry just to add the reason I ask if its defo not yours (as the rate is very fast for it to be you) is that my MW put the dopler on my DS heart at our last appointment to show him the difference beween rates and it came up as waaayy too fast to be correct, she said that sometimes happens and gave me some technical reason I cant remember now.

thanks :) i dont know, possibly placenta? i havnt had a scan yet, iv only seen my midwife once and she ran the doppler over quickly didnt really hear much as i was only 11 weeks at the time. im due to see her again on the 16th.. very exited

At my last MW appt my bubs' HB was detected in two places, but there is most def only one!!! The first time she did it, it was on my left side above my belly button. But as it was quite weak, she tried on the right hand side. She found it there, lower down. She said it was cos bubs was lying sort of on an angle - not back to back, but not fully facing the back either. So sort of in between, meaning the heartbeat was being picked up both through the chest and back. If that makes sense!!! x
