I haven't had a period for 2 years after coming of the depo provera injection and we have been ttc for a year (Pointlessly I did not realise as having no period means it is very unlikely that you are ovulating according to the doctor).

So I have had all the tests and so has hubby and they are all fine. I have had an appointment with the fertility clinic where he sent me for tests and set up a second appt to review the results and said he would induce a period and put me on clomid if the results are all clear. The second appointment is on January 21st.

So I just got my period full flow for the first time in 2 years!! Funny how things work. Do you think I should still take the clomid? I want to conceive asap and am worried that he will now say clomid is not necessary now that I got my af back. I am going to use OPK's to try and work out if i am ovulating between now and then.

Please help, I want to know what to do before I go. I am worried that this might be a one off period or something and don't want to ruin my chances and have to wait months again for another appointment.

Hiya hun and yayyy for AF :cheer: :cheer:

As for taking clomid I really do not know what to suggest because like you say you might not need it. Why not ring the clinic/hospital where you are being treated and talk to them about it  They might suggest making another appointment for a later date and to see how you go for 3 months or so (that is what mine suggested when my cycles got short all of a sudden)

I wish you all the luck and hope that this is the start of regular cycles and a quick BFP

Hi hon. :)

If this is your first af after so long, chances are that your next cycle will be long as well. It's definitely up to you; there are natural remedies you can attempt (if you haven't tried them already), but nothing is guaranteed, so Clomid is probably a quicker solution for you. Hope all gets sorted - sounds like you're on the right path!

:cheer: for af! how funny is it that after all this time she turns up now just when you don't want her!!! it seems that things like this are always happening- supposedly due to the relief of something being done and therefore less stress and worry- what strange things bodies are!!!
as melissa said your next cycle is probably going to be long again- but hopefully not quite so long!! whether you take clomid is probably going to be out of your hands though hun- the doctor will ultimately decide whether he thinks you need it. i expect they'll ask you to come back in 3 months to see what has changed- but then again i'm only guessing!!! maybe someone thats been it that situation will be able to advise better.
have you tried reflexology? i hadn't had af for 102 days after the pill so i went to see a reflexologist that specialises in fertility problems and regulating the menstrual cycle. my af turned up 14 days after the first session and has been improving with a session 1 a month since (42 days, 37 days). the other things i've heard recommended are accupuncture and chinese herbs. sometimes its the feeling that your doing something about it that you need to get everything moving again!
sorry for the ramble but it is really positive af has turned up hun- just remember that!! hope everything gets sorted
xx

Thanks for the replies! I have been having acupuncture for 2 months so that may've helped or it could've been a coincidence but it made me feel good anyway. I thunk I will go to the appointment and just see what the doc suggests. Maybe he will prescribe me the clomid for when af comes back.

Thanks again girls xx

Congrats on Af :D Have you had any bloods done? I am presuming they havent done day 3 or day 21 bloods as you havent had cycles to speak of? If you ring the clinic they might want to do them? I would personally just take clomid anyway lol. They give it to assist in unexplained infertility even if you are already ovulating (I believe), how exciting!

dotn know about the clomid but just wanted to say good luck , its a huge step in the right direction

Im not in your exact situation but i got pregnant with clomid after trying for almost 3 years. I have PCOS though, which makes me different. i guess what im trying to say is CLOMID REALLY WORKS! If you really want to get pregnant soon i would take it. even just for a few months to help ovulation along a bit. Good luck!!!! xox

thought id add i got a positive with clomid too i took it for 3 months it can be a great drug for getting things working just be sure to follow advice given by dr good luck
