I am Legend Alterative ending **SPOILER**

Has anyone seen the alternative ending? I have to say it's loads better than the one they used. I can't understand why they didn't use it. It makes the film so much more understandable now.

Like why the 'vampire' man came out of the dark warehouse during the day even though he knew that it could kill him and why, after all that time they attcked Robert Nevilles house. Awww he just wanted his Mrs back
