right i want to talk hypothetically here - imagae a woman went to a 22wk scan on her opwn found out the sex of the baby and told no one - not even her dh/mum actally denied finding out cause they had not wanted to know - would it be better to come clean? When?? or just keep it a secret for ever :shhh:

Surely you can't keep it a secret forever ...

Unless you keep baby dressed in neutral clothes and never remove it's nappy in front of other people

Personally I couldn't keep it a secret.
I would tell people if I knew, or not find out myself :)

I think I wouldn't be able to resist letting it out that I knew the sex.

My OH said he wanted to find out and I didn't mind either way so we were told we were having a boy. But if OH was against knowing I wouldn't want to know myself either.

i didnt actually mean keep the sex a secret forever - i meant keep the fact that this woman knows/knew the sex before birth a secrret forever :D

I wouldn't be able to help myself I would have let it slip the same day probably..... I guess it depends on how your DH etc... feel, whether they want to know or not.

if they were against finding out then i wud keep secret to myself, altho i wud probably find it impossible not to buy sumthing in pink or blue lol

xxxx

i would keep it secret until after the birth at least, then it doesnt really matter does it, as you got what you wanted (to find out the gender) and they got what they wanted (for it to bea surprise) and by the time the baby is born you'll all know what gender the baby is anyway :D .

Personally I'd definitely keep quiet until after the birth and then come clean

sounds like a plan - hypothetically of course :rotfl:

:rotfl: lol so what is baby then

I wish i had the guts to do that but was so scared i would let it slip i didn't but would have loved to have known it was the OH that didn't want too!! But now i am really looking forward to the surprise when baby is born :D

Paula - I dont know what the baby is  - the very thought that i could knowingly conceal something so important from my Dh of 15years - it was just a hypotetical question :shhh:

:rotfl:

So hypothetically, if you had to choose, really had no choice to say pink or blue, what would your gut instinct / guess be??
A guess can't hurt - they say mothers intuition is often right......

Piglet xx

If your hypothetical person couldn't agree on names with her OH it could be useful - ie if she knows it's a boy by agreeing to her OH's suggestion for a girls name and sticking to her choice for a boys name :) This was what my mum suggested I do if I could find out the sex as DH and I were having trouble agreeing on names - very sneaky I know

I wouldnt ber able to resist telling people i knew! But then i have a big mouth!

- i wouldnt know anyone who would use the information to their advantage  - although.....i did suggest my dh got to have the deciding vote over the name of one sex and i the deciding vote over another sex - i wonder whose choice will be used
