Hiya,

I have my hycosy later today and am really confused when to take the drugs they gave me, as they have given me three different instructions:

on the box it says:

Diclofenac 2 hrs before HSG
Metronidazole 1-2 hours before HSG
Azithromycin 2 hours before HSG

In booklet:
Metronidazole and azithromycin 2 hours before hycosy
DiclofenacL 1 hour before hycosy

Nurse's written instructions on booklet:

1st supp 3hrs before hycosy
2nd supp 2hrs before hycosy and take oral tabs.

So... I'll take the antibiotics 2hrs before. But when to take the metronidazole and diclofenac and in what order?!

Any advice? Or does it not really matter as long as I've taken them all by an hour before? xx

I wouldn't have thought it mattered too much to be honest but I'd be inclined to go with what the nurse says. When I had my hycosy, I think I just took painkillers which made things much simpler!

Hope it all goes ok xx

Thanks Hun - I went for the booklet instructions in the end as they seemed clearest!

Hycosy was fine, not too painful although pretty uncomfortable. They could see I have an arcuate uterus, although it's different from the norm it shouldn't give us any problems conceiving, so nothing to worry about. Tubes all clear so now just waiting for hubby to get back from his business trip Tuesday and hope we might catch that egg with the 'cobwebs' all cleared out! First IUI appointment with the nurse in January. X

That's great :-) I have read about couples conceiving straight after the hycosy so hopefully you are one of them xx
