Another forum In the debate section has a topic about hugging being banned at a school, here is what she put

"have just read in the paper that a headteacher has banned hugging at his school and in a statement calls those on the receiving end of the hugs 'vicitms'and is complaining that girls spend too much time between lessons hugging!

When my DD was 5yrs old and in reception class i was called into school and asked by her form teacher to have a word with her and ask her to stop hugging/cuddling other children as it was 'inappropriate' behaviour for school. I was extremely shocked and refused to do this at the time as my DD was, and still is, a very loving child and i honestly couldn't see what harm it was doing as the teacher had told me the other children didn't mind DD hugging them and would hug her back. I didn't, and still don't, get the what the problem is as long as the person on the receiving end is happy to be hugged what is the problem?

Am I missing the point here is hugging at school inappropriate behaviour?!?!"

what the F**ks going on ! :shakehead: I can't believe this, has the world gone mad!!

I am totaly shocked at how stupid society is getting, next thing we know we wont be allowed to say hello to anyone in a minute!!!

OMG what is the world coming to i think that it is really silly. If children want to hug each other then that is down to them. Anyway saying that we have to refrain from hugging our children at work unless it is absolutly necessary like if they have badly hurt themselves, we encourage them to hug each other all the time to show we love our friends oh god its so silly.

For F**ks sake. Its things like this that make me want to move abroad, i can't bare how petty this country is getting. you can't say or do anything now without the 'You might offend someone' . I see it as if someone is offended by something that there problem not ours

My Dad was reading a bit out of the paper the other day & it said that its not politically correct to say politically correct now  Its crazy.

As for not being allowed to hug, why? If the kids were beating the shit out of each other, fair enough ban that, but hugging  aaarrrggghhh!!!

oh i don't agree with hugging in schools too. it passes the dreaded nits on :puke:

i tell my kids to keep a heads distance from everyone. :rotfl:

ive just got the paper and read about the hugging thingo. It refers to secondry school kids. its ridiculous! kids can't bloody win! if they hig they get critisised and if they beat each other up they get criticised! Whats the world coming to :x

that's just absurd - banning hugging - whatever next!?

obviously a quiet time for news so they have to put that pile of stupidity in the paper - kids cant do right from wrong.. would they rather they were beating hell out of each other or what!!
