My daughter who is 3yrs old has been ill since last friday.

Looking on NHS she seems to have all the incubation period symptoms of chicken pox like nausea, tiredness, she is randomly sleeping through out the day, very tearful, off her food, very hot.

Well today i took her to school and she screamed, the teacher said its best i take her home, she slept another 2 hours this morning, When she woke her back and a small bit of her tummy has a kind of rash like a heat rash, I know chickenpox is blistery spots,
But wasnt sure how the spots started whether it was just a normal rash that got worse?

I have posted a pic so u can see her back, to be honest it doesnt look too bad on here but you might get the type of rash im talking about :(

Sorry its big but wanted to try and get the better view of her back

Well finally drs have got her in, so going to see what she has at 5:05, hopefully he says she hasnt got it!! cant be dealing with 3 kids all ill for a whole week or so lol

Lucy has just had chickenpox and she was a bit like you describe: tired and grouchy and generally under the weather but nothing specific. Then one morning I spotted a faint rash on her face, within a few hours the rash had spread and the oldest spots had started to blister slightly. I'm not sure how long it is supposed to take between the appearance of spots to them blistering but with Lucy it was fairly quick.

Hope she's ok but if it is chickenpox I can recommend Piriton syrup - keeps a lot of the itching away.

P.S. sorry can't comment on the pic - its blocked at work :shhh:

looks like rubella to be honest.... Tia had it a while back....but I can't be sure cos I cant see the spots very well...but many virus' have rashes associated with them... hope she gets well soon
