How quick can you ovulate?

Hi ladies, so i'm on CD11 today, had feint lines on opks since CD8, these have gradually got darker and last night and this morning line showed very quickly but not dark enough to be positive. Did another opk tonight and it looks feinter than last 2 i did. Dtd this morning using conceive plus, little while afterwards had a blob of cm and some ewcm. No more since. Had sharp twinges of pain on the right side most of today, but seemed to have eased off so far this evening. What do you make of this? Just going to carry on testing with opks each day and see what happens i guess. X

Maybe it's my eyes as looking at photo they don't look much different?! X

If day from your symptoms that you ovulated hun some people opks just don't work for them and they never get a positive even though they are still ovulating

None of those OPKs are close to positive.

CD11 is early to ov but not impossible by any means. I once had a positive opk on CD10 and would have ovved the day after.

Your symptoms do sound as thought you've ovved though, especially the one sided pain. I don't get ov pain every cycle but when I do it's bloody agonising!

What time of day do you usually do your opks? Apparently they're best done around 2pm although I'd normally do mine as soon as I was home from work around 5.30 and always got reliable results.

My friend never got a positive opk but was def ovving as she fell pregnant!

If in doubt DTD just to be on the safe side. Good luck and fingers crossed!

Thanks ladies, been doing them in evenings, middle one i did this morning. I will test again tomorrow afternoon and see what shows. It's the small amount of ewcm and possible ov pains that have thrown me, I wasn't expecting to ov for at least another 3-4 days but it's only my 2nd cycle off of the pill, first cycle went to CD29, didn't use opks for that one. I'm sure my opks when i ttc my daughter did get a fair bit darker than that when they was positive, but never got darker than control line. X

Coming off the pill can mess with your cycles for a little while as they come back to normal again

I’m not convinced - you may still have a few days to go. I would continue with the opks and see how they go for the rest of the cycle, BD just in case tho! X

If you can just BD every other day to make sure that your covered.
Opks don’t work for everyone and some people’s line doesn’t go as dark as the control line.

We BD twice yesterday just in case it was ov, although I'm not convinced. Saying that, the pains on the right side have gone today and OPK this morning was a really feint line. Will keep testing each day and just see what happens. x

Your body can throw you ov signs in the lead up so you may not have ovulated yet. I could have sworn I was o'ing on CD8 (cramps, EWCM etc) last cycle but then I had much stronger signs around CD16. I was using OPKs and never got a positive but I obviously was o'ing as I fell pregnant that cycle! If you drink a lot, OPKs won't work for you. Just cover every other day from CD8 and you'll be fine no matter when you O :)

Emma, I would get a few days of feint OPK lines (like yours in the picture), then they would go completely negative for a few days, then some feint lines again. I was going to give up testing, but then I got a very obvious positive later in my cycle (not as dark as control - but you can see the 100 x darker result). My theory is that my body is “gearing up” for O (including a bit of a surge, ewcm etc) and fails twice for me before the real deal. Not sure if you are having a similar progression with OPKs, but I agree with Emily and those are not positive in your photo x

I would get my positive OPK on CD 10 and ovulate the next day, confirmed by temping. Pretty much the same every month, like clockwork. I had really short periods so that is probably why.

Thanks ladies, I think it was prob my body having a practice run at ov, going to stick with opks each evening and hopefully positive won't be too much longer, on CD12 today. We dtd 3 times a week usually so will be covered, wanted to use conceive plus at ov time for extra bit of help.

Those that have had positive opks, do they start off feint and build up, or can they go from very feint to positive? Thanks x

Emma from what i have seen on here they start faint and get darker as the days go on.
I am going to start going my opks on CD10 so i can see it gradually get darker and so i dont miss ovulation. x

Had some ewcm this afternoon, so think my body is defo gearing up for ov soon, i'm so impatient, want this BFP so bad! I feel like a crazy woman! Haha x

You and me both.
I’ve defo turned into a nut job since TTc!!

It makes you wonder how people coped prior to all this assistance. Or maybe it was just better because you simply had to go with the flow and not second guessing all the time! X

Yeah knowing too much isn't necessarily a good thing! The highlight of my days is peeing on sticks hahahahaha! X

Well this is refreshing to find out OPKs don’t work for everyone - I did not know this! Last month I was using OPKs but got negatives and I thought I’d missed my O day but got pregnant. This month I’ve been testing and still getting all negatives... thought I might have got a very faint line this morning but think it was just evap as I did another test later on and there were no signs... I deffo think maybe the lack of knowledge helped years ago because having all this information can make you into a nutter lol I’m overthinking everything...
