How much have you / are you going to spend on your pram if your buying a new one? I assumed they would be around £250 but when I look at the type I want its over £500.

What I would like (from mothercare)
2 in one (buggie that changes into a carry cot & car seat attachment)
Matching changing bag
Raincoat for buggie
Matching foot muff

Are these packages a rip off or an investment? I would feel guilty spending that much but I want a decent pram that I can use for all my babies  lol

Hey

I love talking prams lol, my partner said that when i get depressed i always start looking for a new pram lol. First time round i had the Mutsy Urban rider travel system. Was great but i didnt keep it long as it was so big, i think that is the problem with most travel systems. Once your baby is around 4-5 months you start thinking more about how much easier things would be if you got a stroller. I think the silver cross pram thats in mothercare now, its around 250.00 and looks great. You should definatley look into that one.

If you have a big car then you won't struggle with a travel system but if you havent its so hard to fit everything into the boot. If your using public transport too is a nightmare with a big pram.

As i already have a child, i have decided to go for the Silver Cross pop, its from birth and so easy to use. Doesnt look as cosy and big as a carrycot but so practical. Will be all i need. I bought the buggy, footmuff and head support for around £150.00. Bargain!

I'll stop my rant now lol. You shoud really go to mothercare world or something and try a few out.

xxxxx

We're not getting a new pram for this one, I just bought new covers for the one we already have! Only cost about £80 for brand new covers for the pram, carrycot & buggy. So much cheaper than buying a new pram that;ll get used for a couple of months!

We had this

and now have this

Mine was £500 but i've had to get a double one aswell which would have cost £660 brand new- but i had it on Ebay for £180 :) x

I got mine from ebay.... was meant to be over £500 and I paid £90 for it.

Ours was £300 for the M&P Pliko Pramette (3 years ago).

It's great and I love it but if I was looking now I'd love the M&P Skate which is nearly £600.... things have changed loads in the past 3 years, in some ways I wish I was buying a pram this time but then again I still don't have the money!!

My mum paid £300 for ours. Its a graco travel system in I love my bear its really soft and its a pram/buggy/car seat and the car seat clips on. Also got rain cover, foot muff with things for the baby to play with and a huge basket underneath! Its nearly as tall as me!! I love it tho!

Ours was £450 but includes carry cot - the car seat that fits the chassis (the maxi cosi) was an extra £200 inc the isofix base!!!

Gate crashing but i got mine from a girl i kow second hand.
Its a Babystyle Lux with Car seat and buggy attachments. I thought it was a bit of a waste to spend 4-5 hundred pounds on a pram, when ill probably buy a lighter weight buggy by the time she is 6 months old. Ill prob make my money back when i sell my pram on to

I'd buy the change bag, foot muff/buggy snuggle separately tbh. Often the change bag that comes with the pram/pushchair are not great.

Also you are talking about an entire travel system, hence the cost being so high. If you are looking at a pram part to be used in the first few months that then can be swapped to be a pushchair and a separate infant carrier car seat then yes, the cost will be more.

We got a Jane Slalom Pro and its been brillant. Raincovers for both the pram and pushchair were thrown in free. We got a funky change bag online from here and I bought this buggy snuggle We got a dark blue pushchair so can jazz it up as we want with other things :)

I have to get a double one and they are expensivo!!

Getting one from Mamas and Papas which is HUge but easy to manoever

WOW I'VE fallen in love with this pram http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... alt_image2 I WANT IT!!!! probaly won't get a pram till last minuet as i'm planning on using a sling most of the time :D

thats a lovely pram anna. mmmm if we were buying one now might consider that, but seeing as my parents are buying our pram for us in january we kind of have to wait! am hoping i might get one a bit cheaper in the sales! lol

I've had different prams for all of mine  .

My oldest had one bought by my grandad. It was a 3 wheeler that looked good but was soooo bulky and was only forward facing so I didn't like it very much. That cost about £650 I think.

My second had a second hand Mamas and Papas one that could have car seat, carrycot or pushchair and was forward or rear facing. I loved it but it was already quite worn and I pretty much killed it off. But it only cost me about £50 so I didn't mind too much.

So I got a similar version of the Mamas and Papas off ebay for my 3rd. It too had an interchangable car seat, carry cot and pushchair that could be rear facing. I loved being able to see my baby and she could lie flat in it too so very often used to nap in it during the day. That one should have cost over £600 new and came with raincovers, cosy toes and change bag. Think I paid about £150 for it.

This time, I would gladly use the Mamas and Papas one again as it is still in great nick and I love it, despite it being a bit bulky. But as my youngest is only going to be 18 months when this LO is born I am having to consider a double buggy. Problem is, I really don't want the baby to go straight into forward facing and I have a problem with travel systems that use car seats as I like the baby to lie flat. I have seen a Firstwheels one that has the option of rear or forward facing for one or both children and has a carrycot option. So it seems the best solution so far, except that it has smaller front wheels than at the back and of course it is very bulky. I've seen them on ebay for about £300, with all the trimmings. Really wanna see one in real life before I make a decision. And I won't be buying anything till at least January!

I got my mamas and papas one from the carboot sale...came with carrycot, buggy and matching car seat for a whopping £28!!!! I love it!

We've got a Bugaboo Gecko display model, therefore it was reduced by 20%, so we paid 399 quid for pram incl carrycot, raincover and mosquito net
