how much is child benefit?

can anyone conifrm how much child benefit is per month, how you go abotu claiming it and how it is paid to you, ie bacs or cheque? want to make sure i get everything im entitled to!

It works out about £17.45 a week round about. You get the form to apply for it in one of your packs off the hospital usually but you can't apply for it till you get the birth certificate as you have to send it off to apply.
