As the title says really following on from another thread.

Charlotte says mama, dada, hiya but i know others her age that say a lot more. She understands a lot and is saying lots of sounds so i am not sure if i should be worried yet? I also know i could all suddenly change in the next couple of months.

She has also been advanced physically and i know they say babies are walker or talkers?

Mummy
daddy
stevo
baby
stalker (her cat)
dogs
shoes
nanna

she can repeat a fair bit but its baby jabber still and that is coming along nicely so im not worried. Shes awalker though.

Maddison says bye bye, daddy and shit! I have been worried about her recently because she just talks gibberish but hardly says proper words. She also walked unaided at Christmas and hasnt bothered since :(

umm, Willow can say Mummy,Daddy,Wilfie (the dog) Shoes,Duck,Baby, Teddy. Wat (water) Baff (bath) G'anda (grandad) and Gaanee (granny), she calls her booby feed Nummy  and she can do most of the animal noises, it's so funny when she copys the cockerel, she goes "Leedle leedle leeee!"

She's been walking from about 13 months.

Dont know how to stop her saying it either! She just bimbles around going sh*t, sh*t, sh*t! :shakehead:

Alex doesn't pronounce a great deal of things correctly

he knows how to say a few things, but they don't sound like anything they're meant to sound like. Only DH and I and Lydia can understand him. Nobody else would have a clue!

He can say:

Lydia (dydia)
water (dawwww-tah)
chip
mama
dada
get down (geh dah)
get up (geh uh)
yeh
computer (toooo tah)

that's about it.

if he wants a kiss he goes MMMMMMMMAH to you, and he shakes his head for no. He points to things he wants.

Other than that he just babbles gobbledikook. Quite seriously sometimes, as though he's having a whole long conversation in gibberish lol

He can't walk either. He can stand unaided for about 5 seconds, and has taken 1 step unaided, but that's all. It's lack of confidence.

By contrast, at this age Lydia knew at least 20 words or more pronounced clearly, and she knew all animal noises. By 18 months she was stringing 2 words together to make basic sentences.

Lola can say cat, dog, fish, baby, mum, dad, nan, boobie, yum, up, that, gone, drink, crisps, car, ball and eyes.

She knows quite a few animal sounds and has been walking since just under 11 months

We like to try and teach her one new thing per week.

This week we are teaching her body parts, So far she can point to her head, eyes, mouth, belly and feet :)

i also heard that saying "walkers or talkers" xx
lexi is 15 months and can say quite alot but yet shes not quite walkin yet xx

she also copies most things said but doesnt actually know what they mean.
my 21months old brother shouts "niki, your vans here" (for work) and she attempts to say that, although its not quite words, its clear that thats what shes trying to say xx

xxx linzi xxx

Imogen (13 months) has been walking since 10.5 months. She crawled from around 7 months and stopped babbling for a while. Since walking the speech has come on loads.

She says

mamamama dadadada (has done since she was 9 months ish but says it totally in context now and requests or names us properly with mamama dadada etc.)
shoes - sshsssoooo
flower - wow wah
cat - cah
bath - bar
car - cah
ta - ta/da (this has been for about 2 months now)
makes animal noises, has done for a few months, fave one is moooo
dog - doh
door - doo

She copies me when I name things but it often doesn't sound like what I have said.

And lots of doo doo dahh dahh doo dah dah with plenty of intonation and pitch and says the same sort of phrase over and over - I'm sure she thinks oh come on mummy do I have to keep repeating myself!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am a very proud mummy. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Children vary so much in their milestones. I am a teacher and was a nursery nurse and know that singing to babies andtalk talk talk helps loads. Imogen talks all the time...maybe I over did it !!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
