How long will this last?

I'm just asking for a bit of advice or any information. I am 40 weeks pregnant and this is my foray baby. Tuesday morning I had a sweep of mw, there was a lot of blood whilst she did it and I lost quite a lot afterwords so rang maternity unit and they told me to come get checked. Said it was just a show and I was put on the monitor which show contractions were 10 mins apart however I couldn't feel them. Mw examined me and said my cervix was thin and all ready and I was 2cm dilated and that she thought is be back that night. Had a lot of back and belly ache since then but no contractions and now the aches seem to have gone? Is this Labor or nor? Confusedddd xx

I had a show and was 2-3cm about a week before I had my daughter so this stage can last a while. Just try to get plenty of rest now while you can x
