Hi

I had a c.section 11 days ago and am bottle Feeding LO. How long will I bleed, as I know it will be different from a vagina birth?

Mx

i bled for about 2 1/2 weeks and then didnt have anything for 11 weeks

I only bled for 3days but the MW said to expect 14days minimum.

I think it can vary from woman to woman, I had a c-section and if I remember rightly I bleed for a couple of weeks or so, possible longer, it was a very mild bleed throughout, I was quite shocked as after having my daughter I was told by the midwifes to use 2 super towels, but all I needed was one medium towel to start with and then a panty liner.

Hope all is well after your c-section and your taking it easy. x

I was about the same, 2.5 weeks ish and I was breastfeeding so doesn't appear as if it would make any difference.

I had a section and bled for about 5 weeks, it was not alot at all though, just seemed to drag on a bit. The amount really was pointless for the last week or so though. Everyones different, it didnt hurt atleast so, I was happy!!

I bled for about 3 weeks had a weeks break then my periods came back, now i'm back regular as clockwork, normal period cycle...but less pain! result!

I bled for 7 weeks after my section. Initially it was quite heavy and i used maternity pads, then the bleeding almost stopped after about 4 weeks and i had a few days with just spotting then it came back with a vengance and i had to use a sanitary towel. I found that while at home the bleeding was slowing down day aw day, if i went out with the pram for a walk then the bleeding would be heavier the next day depending on how far i'd been (sometimes only to the end of the road). Then once i was able to drive again it came back because i was lifting the pram in and out of the boot. The surgeon did say i lost more than the average amount me blood during surgery ry that could have contributed to the length me time that i bled for afterwards. Also i got an infection in my scar which could have prolonged it as well.

I know I didn't have a c-section but I'm still bleeding quite a bit :( Nothing worrying but it's still rubbish- I really want it to stop or at least tail off a bit.

How are you and LO?

I bled for about two weeks but it was nowhere near as heaving as I thought it would be. It tailed off with spotting for a week or so afterwards then eveything returned to normal after that although since being pregnant I have to wear liners everyday cos things down there seem to have changed discharge wise (sorry TMI)...had a coil fitted since and periods have stopped...whahay

ive only just stopped bleeding a couple of days ago after my section, so it was 7 weeks for me.

Thanks. Just wondered. My bleeding seems very light compared to a normal period. Also haven't lost my sex drive so want to get back to a normal routine (sorry TMI) although with a sore tummy that will have to wait.

mdsremos did it hurt having the coil put in, and when was it done? I had the coil put in before having a baby and it hurt like hell, but I have heard that after having a baby it is less painful?

Same here bled medium flow for a bout and week then it slowed down to an anoying amount it would come and go and catch me out. Not a huge amount but enough to need to wear a pantiliner one day and then a light pad on the next
bleeding lasted bout 3 weeks My first period began on the 6th week after i had Collier
I only needed the big towels for the first week
I also breastfeed

and ditto to the sex drive i was up for it ater the first 2 weeks of recovery  but we waited till i hit the 6 week mark
then my bloody period came  sods law :rotfl:

It was the first coil for me and I had it fitted 9 months after having Charlie and it was no problem at all being fitted, just slight cramps thats all. My periods were erratic for a couple of months but certainly not heavy and they have stopped altogether now which is great
