How long does you baby feed for

My baby is 4 weeks old but only stays on the boob for 5-15 minutes but feeds often I can't get him to stay on for longer because he'll fall asleep but may wake up 10 minutes later and go back on? He was born weigh g 7lb 4oz and now weighs 10lb 1oz so I think his weight gain is good?

For his age they do get sleepy cuddled up next to mummy's boobs! Their bells are so small like the size of a marble when they are born so not much bigger at 4 weeks so you can imagine how fast they get full! It will spread out with longer feeds less often! Also when they have a growth spurt the with feed and feed for hours to build your supply ready for the big feeds they need clever little munchkins! X

That's a great weight gain! Harry is 8 weeks and is 10lbs 14oz! He used to be more sleepy when he was a few weeks old and not feed for long, but it has improved as he's got older xxx
