How long does it take for baby teeth to grow to full height?

My LO's bottom two teeth are protruding through his gums. How long does it take them to grow to their full height? Are they painful until they have reached their final height? He is so grumpy at the moment and biting on everything.

I can't remember exactly but Jake's two bottom teeth came through when he was 7 1/2 months and they took about 6-8 weeks to grow to full height. Jake was ill before his teeth came through with a temperature and diarrhoea but i'm not sure if it was related to teething or not. Jake wasn't really bothered by his teeth much once they had actually come through. Hopefully he will be ok with all of his teeth as one of his top ones has just come through. Give your LO a cold teething ring to bite on and rub some teething gel on his gums.
