How long did you work until going on maternity leave?

Just make sure that when you use your KIT (keeping in touch) days that you get paid a full day - or more than one day's SMP would be because the paid part of a KIT day is instead of a SMP day so you lose one day's SMP and then get paid at your hourly rate for however many hours you work.

Also, bear in mind that even if you're only in for a few hours that counts as one full KIT day.

I must be due about 1 week before you and I was planning on finishing at the time I would have anyway for Christmas (19 Dec as I work Wedn-Fri), and so starting my mat leave in the new year. With Charoltte I worked to 38.5 weeks and she came at 39 weeks, I didn't have much time off beforehand, but TBH I think I prefered it that way. I'm not unconvinced she came a bit early because I was so busy. I wold have been bored at home I think.

BTW, I always assumed she would be late - I thought first babies always were which was why I left it so late - but this insn't guarenteed!! I had a very striaght forward pregnancy and there was no indication she would be early, although my midwife did predict I would go in 48 hours when I saw her a couple of days before, and she was right.

If i get the remortgage thru 29-30 weeks if not will be giving birth in office and then straight back to work

I'm due December 27th and I'm a teacher - going to try and hang on until the end of term on the 19th!!!

I worked until 9pm on the 4th March, Thomas was born at 10.39 on the 5th!
Planned section, but was still 39 weeks!

I worked until 2 weeks before last time and plan to do the same again this time. I was fine last time - anyway people at work do cut you a bit of slack when you're that far gone!

I worked until 38 weeks, and onlyy finished then due to Christmas shutdown..with the holiday I started my mat leave on 8th Jan which was my due date...she didnt arrive until 20th Jan as I was induced @ 12 days OD.

I had the most amazing pregnancy tho, no sickness and felt amazing-I didnt even get that big and I have a desk job with a fantastic gang of work mates who looked after me. I was VERY lucky :cheer:

i was signed of sick at 28 weeks onwards. I had organised to start my mat leave at 37 weeks - but they moved it forward a week to 36 weeks.

im planning at the moment to leave at 32 weeks - at the moment depends on how i go. If i get the same thing as last time and about the same time, i may have to start it earlier.
