When did you go on maternity leave? My LO is due on 24th July so have chosen to begin ML on 6th July (providing all is well  ) . Im just wondering if it is a bit unrealistic. I choose that as i had to chose a date or continue scratching my head

Im very aware that the summer is going to be very hot and although im going to be moved to a different office (all on one floor, not 3 like my current office) air con is some futuristic concept for the company where i work

Although im a housing officer which requires a lot of site visits i will be able to get away with mostly desk and reception work (at a very small quiet office) when im heavily pregnant because the manager there is fantastic and will bend over backwards to ensure my welfare comes first

I started my maternity leave on the 24th, although i took a weeks holiday so officially started maternity leave on the 4th December and Sophie was due on the 22nd.

I think it all depends on how exhausted you are to be honest, everyones different!

I took my maternity leave just over a month before my due date - due date was the 3/09 and took maternity leave on the 28/07.

i left 3 weeks before due date, mark was a week early so in the end it was 2 weeks  will be leaving 4 weeks before this time because with having a baby to look after im more tired this time.

Hi

I'm not a mummy yet but... I'm taking my maternity leave 3 weeks before baby is due and adding 3 weeks holiday to the start of that so I'll be finishing 6 weeks before due date.

I drive alot with my job and already starting to feel uncomfortable. Would have liked to hang on a bit longer though and have the time after with the baby...just depends on how you are feeling

Ellie was due on the 2nd August. My Maternity leave officially started on the 23rd July (as I needed to give them a date 15weeks ahead of the start of maternity leave). Though I only managed to work up until 19th July - I took the thursday and friday as leave. I also took the wednesday as leave the previous week. The last few weeks at work I was finding quiet tough as I was getting so tired. I would advice (as long as you have a flexible and understanding boss like I had), is giving a very late maternity leave date, but keeping some holiday so that you can finish sooner or work shorter weeks in the run up to your maternity leave. It was very hot at that time last year, but thankfully my office was air conditioned so it was more comfortable in some ways that being at home.

I work in an air conditioned office and am due on 18th August so am hoping to work up until the end of July but really don't know if that's realistic. I only live about 20 minutes away but think I might be able to swing working 2 or 3 days at home which would be eaiser. But I'm going to play it by ear.
