How long did it take you to get back in your pre-pregnancy clothes?

I realise this is a random question but I am in a dilemma.

I am due to get married 4 weeks after my due date, thats if bubba arrives on time and isn't weeks late!

The issue is I have to find a wedding dress in the next few weeks before I get too much of a bump but should I get one a couple of sizes big? Should I just get one that fits but can be taken out a bit? How long do bridal shops need to make adjustments?

Obviously my (.)(.) will be bigger then but were people able to squeeze back into their own clothes fairly soon after birth?

Any advice will be much welcomed as i want to go dress shopping forearmed cos I am dead nervous about them getting really snooty with me.

Thanks a lot

I'd think about a dress with a lace-up back, something that's not too restrictive around your stomach-area, as the lace-up back will be easily adjustable to pull in/out.

It all depends on what "style" of wedding you're going for. Does it have to come from a bridal shop? Could you not look at , perhaps, a second-hand dress or something similar, so you're not spending hundreds on something that *might*, at the end of the day, just never fit for a whole host of reasons ?

It does really depend on what you've got your heart set on - but a good bridal shop will EASILY be able to make adjustments to any dress right up to the day before the wedding, in an emergency. I'd ask before you think of buying - and get it in writing prior to making any payment. Some will promise you the world and then ... nada.

Have fun dress shopping! :yay:

This is my first so i can really help, but just wanted to say i hope u have a fab wedding hun

xx

When I went for my wedding dress I said I wanted it a size smaller because I was going to lose a bit of wieght I had put on. They told me they would order the size up as its ALOT easier to take a dress in that it is to make it bigger. I would go for the size you are now or possibly 1 size bigger and that gives you some options. if you go to a shop with nice people they should be able to give you thier advice. xxxxx

Depending on what type of dress you want, you could buy from Monsoon after the birth

I got mine from there, some are simpler styles but worth a look as they stock off the shelf dressesthat you can try and buy on the day like normal clothes. Mine cost £180.00 and was lovely.
