How long after alcohol before bf again?

Basically friends have asked us to dinner tonight and DH has said that he will drive and I can have wee drink. What I need to know is if I have couple (no more) glasses of wine with dinner tonight when can I bf again? I have expressed milk in fridge to give in bottles tonight and have some frozen that I can take out for the morning feed. Anyone know the answer to my question? Thanks

i think alcohol levels peak after an hour or 2 then decrease, if your only having one or 2 i would say a 5 hours or so, they say you dont have to express and dump milk as alcohol leaves milk like it leaves your blood stream.

i usually have a glass of wine on a fri/sat night after hes gone to bed but i never have to feed him till morning now.

I was told if you can drive you can bf so I will happily have 1 glass and feed but no more as he won't take a bottle.

I went out for the first time last week. I left enough milk so that his daddy could feed him overnight and then I fed him in the morning. I found this website (sorry I can't find the link!) which calculates how long alcohol stays in your blood based on your weight and how much you drank. I worked out that at my weight (58kg) I could drink 5 units of vodka and that would be gone from my breastmilk in 9 hours, so I stopped drinking at 11pm xx

Anyway as it turns out didn't matter about drinking. The poor wee thing was so warm that he never settled the whole time we were at our friends' house and wouldn't take the bottle even though we've never had any problems before so the only way to feed him and comfort him was for mummy to feed him. I only had 1 small glass of wine so all was ok.
