How can I get him to sleep in his Moses Basket

How can i get Sam to sleep for more than five minutes in his Moses basket?
He will sleep brilliant in his bouncy chair - it is a vibrating one and he always nods straight off when put in it.
But at night time he will only settle when either me or OH are cuddling him or in between us. As soon as he is asleep and you lower him into the basket he starts and I don't want him to get too used to sleeping with us.
Plus, I really miss getting cuddled up to OH .

Has anyone got any miracles I can try?

Emma im having exactly the same problem i posted about it the other day.

Im up and down all night for hours trying to get her to settle. Your not alone

Im going to try and put my top in with her so she has my smell or others suggested swaddling.

I am going to try putting one of my tops in tonight but I don't hold out much hope. His eyes ping open the second he is lowered into it. Last week he did sleep in it from about 10 until 2am which I was really pleased about but for the last few nights he will just not settle in it.

Have you tried swaddling him Emma? This works really well when Chester wont settle.

I've just thought he has been like this since I started using a baby sleeping bag that was bought for him. Previous to this we had been swaddling him maybe that's why he isn't settling like he was.

swaddling works for us, he hates his bouncy chair tho

Sam's bouncy chair is a Fisher Price Calming Vibrations and he loves it!
It's already had the battery changed twice! Usually settles him in no time.

harrison has a mothercare on which vibrates too, sean said he hates it because it squashes his little tiddler

Logan is the same, as soon as i put him in his moses basket he screams, even if he's asleep he wakes up! I've got him sleeping in bed with me at the moment which is better anyway cos I'm breast feeding.

James took to the moses basket straight away so it never even crossed my mind that logan wouldnt be the same. i dont mind though, i love cuddling him and dont like putting him down myself anyway!

for the first few days i couldnt put him down at all without him screaming, though he now will sometimes lay under his baby gym or sit in his chair (got the calming vibrations too! )
he loves his lie flat matrix carseat though and is quite happy in there.

i havent bothered trying to rectify the moses basket problem up to now cos i love having him in bed with me

Debbie that Snuggle nest is fab I might TRY to get to Argos and get one of those. Can you put that inside their Moses Basket?

Midna - I'm going to try rolling up the blankets either side of him tonight thats another good idea.

Thanks so much everyone, can't believe I didn't cotton on to the fact it wasn't til I stopped swaddling and started using the sleeping bag that he wouldn't settle
I would like just half a night without him in the bed as I can't sleep properly when he is in with us.

I know what you mean about the chair, we have the mama and papas one and it always sends her to sleep

Lily sleeps in a bag but when I put her down I just hold her arms and legs still (like swaddling would) so her waving arms and legs dont wake her up and it always works.

Alex sleeps in his crib for only about 2 hours, then wakes up wailing and ends up in bed with us.

I rolled up two big fluffy towels and wedged him in between and he slept from 10pm till about 3am in his basket
I'm hoping that'll work most nights
I actually feel like for the first time in 2 weeks i have had some half decent sleep.
I ended up keeping him with me till I got up this morning though!
