Oliver is now 19 months old, and he has such a limited volcabulary.

He attempts to say maybe 10 words. Hiya, chair, 'bul' for mr tumble, rawr, a noise i think means juice now and then, and down, and im actually struggling to think of more.

He is very vocal though, lots of shouting and making noise, a lot in frustration though than actually trying to make words.

how can i help him?

oh he also has 'nah' for no and 'baah' for boo

Do you read to him? And when walking down the street point to things and say what they are, you know like, car, tree that kind of thing.

I'm not at that stage myself but just an idea :)

Just talk to him lots and ask him lots of questions, like 'do you want a drink?' etc, that way you can kind of make him respond when he wants something. Thats what I did with Isaac :)

thanks

im not used to it i think, benjamin just seemed to start talking in sentances from the start.

i try to get him to talk, occasionally he'll say 'yeh'.

he understands a lot of things, can follow instructions etc so i dont think there's anything wrong. he just doesnt want to speak!

Ellie's younger but seems quite good at talking and can say lots of words, we've read to her from very young & I constantly talk to her and tell her what things are so I think that helps? I repeat things lots 'Wow look at that Car, whats that Ellie? Is it a car? a red car!' that sort of thing... He'll probably just start chattering away all of a sudden and suprise you! :D x
