Shortly after i started my maternity leave my employers had to sell their shop and i recieved my p45. I am still getting SMP from the new employers but how can they claim it back from the goverment if im not technically employed anymore? I dont intend on going to work for the new employers once my maternity leave is over.

It carries on just the same cos it's continuity of employment xx

If ur previous employers cease to trade then they are liable to pay your smp for the term xx
