I'm being induced on sunday. I have my hospital bag packed but wondered what I need to pack extra if i'm having an induction as I know you can't predict how long you will be there x

I don't think so. From going in until birth was 25 hours so not longer than a natural birth could potentially be. I packed lots of snacks but once Ob the drip unfortunately you can't eat. I was without food for around 24 hrs so had no energy for pushing. However I ate the snacks later in nighttime feeds!!

I was induced on a tuesday morning and my son was born on the thursday afternoon, but I had a section so stayed in extra days after that.

Be prepared to have a section as induction does increase the chances that you'll need one. you'll need slippers that you can put on without reaching your feet (sound familiar?!) and big big pants, go for the hideous M&S ones youve always wondered why they bother making. up to your belly button should do :) I had a sudoku book but TBH after the induction kicked in I couldnt do much of concentrate on anything like that anyway. The woman opposite was induced the same time and nothing happened for days and she was bored out of her brains, and slightly frightened by watching me have contractions lol.

Its hard to predict what will happen with induction so I think its wise to prepare, and have extra pants and comfy clothes cos you could be there for up to a week.

Thread stalking! Im getting my induction date on Tuesday and struggling with how much to pack as I have no idea how long Ill be in for x

God days!! I'll kill myself before then lol xx
