Hello there, what are your thoughts on the name 'seth'?

Just wondering as i love it but my hubby doesnt. What do you think?

xx

i assume for a boy?

hmmmm yeh i dont mind it

I'm not overly fond of it, but its not bad.

It is quite a short sharp sounding name, which isn't for everyone.

I always think of it as being a name of an old person, but obviously all these sort of names are coming back in fashion-George, Martha, Evelyn etc.
A friend of a friend had a little boy called Seth and after hearing it a few times it sounded fine-it just takes a bit of getting used to :)

I don't like it. In south London it would be pronounced 'Seff'

Isn't there a baddy Seth in the bible? Or have I got that wrong? Not being religious, probably.

Is it Noah's son?! (Showing my lack of knowledge here)

crikey, thanks ladies. Almost named my son a demon name! :rotfl:

No, seriously i like it but probs wont go for it.

I also like archie and alfie and joe but they are quite common now.

Still interested in others' views tho. :D

See my link above....

I like Seth, but I like Seb (Sebastian) more.

Maybe an alternative?

I'm not keen on it myself, but no matter what name you choose there will always be someone somewhere that doesn't like it. I think what you think matters most :D

I really like it and would suggest it to my OH but I already know what he'd say :?

I think of the Seth that was in Emmerdale - whispy mostache (sp) - sorry.

one of the teachers at work here has named her boy Seth. it really does suit him.

tbh no. i like your others though, alfie etc.

i also like seb, sounds cool, and similar to seth

i think of an old smelly man i used to care for when ihear seth :rotfl:

I know a lad called Seth and he is about 12 now I think and a little shit so I don't like the name, sorry

Isn't it strange how kids of a certain name effect whether you like it or not.
