I am looking into this as hubby has decided that we can at least discuss it (after being adamant that he would definitely not let me give birth at home).

I am keen to have a pool to either labour in or labour and birth in, but to be honest have no idea where to start looking - googling birth pools pretty much blew my mind!

HELP

I would ideally like the posh ones that heat themselves so hubby doesn't have to keep topping it up with hot water but am fairly sure that even though we could afford it - i couldn't justify the expense to hubby.

Any advice - decent websites, companies just anything really would be hugely appreciated.

Oo fab - thanks for that!

Do you just know where every topic that's been discussed is?!?! You must have the worlds best memory :)

Thanks hun

Have added all the recommended sites to my favourites for when hubby gets back.

Did you find it took a long time to fill and then was it difficult to keep at the right temperature??

erm i dont think it took that long but i dont kno, my boyf was doing that i was in the later stages of labour and a bit delirious! i think he just kept swishing a little thermometer in it and adding a little hot water every so often. it was a june afternoon tho and quite a warm day, so it probably didnt lose much heat. he said he was sweating his ass off inflating it with the foot pump! good luck i hope u get ur home water birth xx

OK thanks!

I'm discussingit with my midwife this wednesday so I'll see what she says (some midwives aren't experienced with water births and aren't that happy doing them) but I'm just so excited to at least be discussing it!
