Home tests?

Hi

I came off the pill in September and have had 2 periods since - both 7 weeks apart. The last one I had started on 27 January...so has nearly been 11 weeks. I've tried several home tests and all have been negative. Went to the doctors and he just acted like I was mental so didn't even bother doing the pee test he gave me...that was nearly 2 weeks ago now and still no sign of a period.

I am constantly tired but other than that don't feel very different.

Has anyone experienced negative home tests even though they are pregnant?

I had loads of negative tests!! It took 2 weeks from the day my period was due to get a positive result!! I know for some people it takes ages for their pregnancy to show up on a home test.

I found that sainsbury's tests were the most sensitive,but it might be worth you going back to the doctors to see if they will give you a blood test then you will know for sure xx

Yeah Id go back and get your bloods taken, like Nikki says it can take weeks for there to be enough HCG hormone in your blood that is made during early pregnancy to show up on a home test. If you are preg you are more likely to be only just gone, because if you fell pregnant after your last period you would be classed as 11 weeks gone and i'm sure a test would show the HCG hormone by now. I think I'll ask to see the lady doctor...she might be better than him at making me feel less mental.

I know it's silly but I'm scared now I might actually be pregnant and think I'm slightly in denial, so I've been putting it off. I can see why men think we woman are complicated!

Yeah thats a good idea, women are generally alot less understanding!!
I take it you were not trying to conceive then if your a little scared you could be pregnant?

I had a similar problem after i came off the pill. Been off for a year now and its only now back to normal (28 days) I had one time no period for a whole month and i went to the docs and had the same. I think you need to relax and try and take care of yourself. Sometimes getting anxious about it can effect your cycle.

I just had a miscarriage very early on and has made myself try and relax as getting anxious doesnt really help. I dont think the lady doc will be any different they all think we are mad and should wait until you get a ++

some dr's can be the most patronising ass**les. They are very good at making you feel nuts. Just go back, even if you arent pg they should take a wee look at where af is.

Ucon Ultra dip stick tests are really sensitive. You buy them off the net. I got my postitve test 3 days before my period was even due!!
