DS is nearly 20 months now and we've decided to do some home 'pre' schooling. Lots of routine, learning through play and following his lead (which we do a lot of already but just want to take it further really). I thought it'd be nice to have a bit of a journal to document our progress and his! I've had lots of help and ideas already and I'm really excited to get started!

Thursday 31st May 2012
Started to get the room sorted out for DS's 'school' room. It's going to have to be in the lounge but that's not a massive problem. Researched prices for storage boxes, play mats, materials and posters so I'm armed with information and ready to go! Going to spend the weekend setting everything up though we are starting to set the routine today. Once we're established I'll put the routine on here!

Rough draft of routine:
6.00 am:
Get up, DS will help to get his clothes.
Breakfast where DS will help to get bowls/spoons/milk/cereal/cups etc wash hands and say Grace then eat breakfast together
After breakfast DS will help clear away, bowls in sink/wipe table/wash hands and face etc *will sing a cleaning song such as 'this is the way we wash our face' whilst clearing up
7.00 am:
Into the playroom where we will have set activities in seperate boxes ie colouring in one box, jigsaws in another etc which he will have free choice of. He will tidy up after each activity. We will follow his lead as to what activities he wants to do and how long for.
*if we have a dog by the time we're really implementing this we will tidy away and take the dog out at 8.00-8.20am*
8.40am:
Take DD to school, go to the park or lake weather permitting on the way home
9.30am:
Snack where DS will help to get the snack mat out, the snack food/bowls etc out
Wash hands and say Grace
Eat snack on snack mat
DS will help clear up again, wash hands (again singing a clearing up song)
10.00-11.00am:

Nap time
12.00pm:
