home birthing pool questions

:rofl: oh my god! a torch!?!?! its all going to be one awesome adventure by the sounds of it! haha! god if i had a house of my own (live with mum and brother) id love a home birth. just would rather they werent around if im honest haha! x
 
but wont the torch break if you put it underwater to see your fanny, same with the mirror.
I dont get how they can see your fanny and seeing if your ready to push buy sticking a mirror under the water?xx

That would be great thanks hun if its not too much bother :)

Im just worrying that they wont tell you when to push and you have to go by how you feel as youll be in the pool and they wont be able to see, as I did that with my son and just pushed when I had to and had a 2nd/3rd degree tear =l

To be fair, we're going to have low lighting generally, so the torch may not be for the pool specifically. Will report back if this baby decides it wants a nice relaxed home water birth rather than a forced eviction in hospital!
 
The torch is just for the midwives to check you ladies after the birth for tears and if you need stitches.
