Hi Everyone

We are off to Cyrpus at the end of the month for 2 weeks with our 7 month old twins.......I think I must be mad!

I've started to panic about how much baby stuff to take.....we are staying in a villa so have a kitchen with microwave.

Does anyone know if I can get jars of food like HIPP organic or Cow & Gate? Do they sell good old Pampers nappies? Will i be able to buy Aptamil 3 powdered milk? If I have to take it all with me I won't be able to take anything myself??????? We have a car so can drive to supermarkets no problem, just don't want to be stuck out there with no decent food.

Anyone been to Cyrpus with little ones?

Hi hun, i dont know if we have anyone from Cyprus on the forum, but i think there is someone, maybe one of the moderators could help. In any case, I dont know about there, but in Spain we do have Aptamil. The one thing I would take if I were you is jar foods that the children are used to. The reason I say this is because I have had the reverse experience. When I was in the UK with my son when he was one (eight years ago  ) i found that Victor didnt like english brand jar foods, (very different from Spanish, as here they puree jar food a lot more for young babes, and also very different flavours) and therefore i had to do a lot of cooking and pureeing to produce food he was used to, a bit of a hassle if you are on holiday!
I hope this helps and have a SUPER HOLIDAY

Lisa

Thanks - I am worried about the jars too. I'll take some from here and hope they like the Cypriat ones. Fingers crossed.

Josephine-beth (third Tri) lives in Cyprus.

It might be worth asking her.

I don't think you'll have much trouble in Cyprus though to be honest. I took my little one in 2001 when I got married and it was a breeze!

Have a lovely time :)

thanks Moomum, i've posted to her in third try - hopefully she'll see it.

Am very aprehensive, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the holiday once we get there. Thanks for the best wishes.

Hiya, I was in Cyprus in May, Reece was 22 months so he obviously wasnt eating jarred foods so Im not sure about that, you can get Pampers nappies, at the supermarkets as opposed to the little shops.
I saw SMA milk but I couldnt tell you about Aptamil as I've never used it so didnt notice...
I know your two are still wee but we found some good pubs etc owned by English people and they used to make Reece bowls of mashed tatties(no salt) veg, gravy etc as a lot of places only serve kids fish fingers, chicken nuggets.. It might be worth trying to find somewhere like that, even if it is only for a bowl of mashed veg for them!
Hope you have a lovely time, the Cypriots are so lovely. We got married there in May and we cant wait to go back again!

PM me if you need to ask anything else x

We went to Cyprus in 2005 before I had Jake but my little brother was only 8 months old at the time. I know that nappies were easy to buy but my Mum had a bit of hassle finding jars of food as only the pharmacies sold them. I have also heard that some countries arn't as strict as the UK and add salt to baby food. I don't know about milk but personally I would take food and milk with you but buy nappies over there.

Thanks for your help everyone - I have decided to pack my hand blender and take a few jars with me and lots of pasta! Hopefully it will all work out in the end. Only two weeks to go......eeek!
