it depends on where you are tbh M! mines a t-mobile one and te signal was shit at my old place, but its amazing here and runs really fast! its actually a contract one, see, i really am stupid its £15 a month

For £20-£30 a month you can get them with a little net book. I have a cute pink Dell one I got with a 3 dingle. I think all networks do them now even without the ickle lap top. I got mine from pc world or commet, I can't remember which xx
