Any1 else suffering with achy hips? Mine hurt late in my last pregnancies but after buying one of those sleeping pillows I thought I might avoid it this time round. I think its because I usually sleep on my back or front, hardly ever my side & of course for the last 5months or so I've been sleeping on my sides and staying in the same position for hours at a time before rolling over....

Just wondering if its a common niggle?!

mine have started to ache if I stay lay down on the one side too long, when i wake in the morning i know if i have been on one side too long, i had it in my last 2 pregnancies aswell, my pelvis hurts a bit when I roll over so i think thats why i start to stay on one side.

yes i wake up with it every morning and its really painful :-( thought my memory foam mattress might help but it doesnt and im running out of ideas! x

I get exactly the same think. Am also getting pain in the tops of my thighs both during the night when turning over or getting up for the loo. The pain stays in my thighs and hips for a little while after waking in the morning and then goes. Have tried loads to alleviate it - normal pillow between the knees and under bump, maternity pillow, changing position through the night etc etc, but to no avail. Grrrrrrrr.

My legs are hurting but the insides of my thighs stretching up to my pelvis - it's confusing because I expected my hips and the outsides to hurt not the insides - at the risk of sounding a bit graphic it feels like someone has kicked me proper hard in between my legs.

Is this what you ladies are getting too or is it the outsides of your thighs/pelvis?

I'm getting up out of chairs and bed like an old lady and until I get going, shuffling like a right old fart!

I have ended up with sciatica, best advice is a nice bath before bed and maybe even two paracetemol, because then all your muscles are extra relaxed before bed and not moving around so much doesn't matter because your muscles are relaxed, and of course a birthing ball ! I swear by mine, really helps achey hips, bit sore after just being on it, but walking around 10 mins after a good bounce and feeling fit as a fiddle :D x

Kole I find that staying active helps me too....the only time I am in pain is when I have rested. I am still teaching fitness classes such as aerobics & conditioning. The only time I waddle & get up like a stereotypical pregnant lady is when I have sat down for a while or been asleep!!!

Didn't have achey hips last night, although I didnt sleep much so I was probably tossing & turning more! xx

try loads and loads of cushions? and maybe even put a spare duvet under your bedcovers, I know sleeping on a hard matress doesn't help me at all, especially as I was just forced to sleep on the floor and now im in agony! x
