Hi,

Had dating scan NT measured 4.6mm with blood tests my result came back as 1:5 ... so as you can imagine very worried

Yesterday I was booked for CVS test, However my placenta was not in the right position so could not be completed, they did scan me though and midwife said that nasal bone was present which changed my chances to 1:15, the NT had also decreased to 3.5mm still high but had decreased in just 4 days.

My head is a mess right now, do I continue with CVS or do I check the scan next week and if this has decreased then trust my instinct that everything is fine ... my head is all over the place

Has anyone else been through this, what were your outcomes

Have you looked into the harmony tests? I know they're abit expensive but I don't think it's as invasive as the cvs?
I haven't been in your situation, but personally I think I'd be asking myself what difference will it make? Obviously I'd like to know either way, but will it change your decision on your pregnancy?
Sending you a big hug xxx

Hi, I did look at the harmony test but even that can result in CVS so Im just trying to do a bit more research.

In all honesty at the moment I just dont know, I try and think of how it would impact life, and what it would mean in terms of affecting my other child and this child. Its just a hard thing to get my head around.

I had trisomy 22 in my previous pregnancy which ended in mc, I have been offered cvs and decided to just have normal screening in this pregnancy but if my results were high I would have the cvs or amnio. Like you say its better to know in advance re impact on your family should your baby have a health problem. It is your family and your choice amd unless you know what the issue is you cant really plan in your mind what the next steps are. Can you have another test or go through your cervix? X

I understand what your saying about your other child and impact on them, in my first pregnancy I wasnt too worried re tisks or testing for problems but now I have my little boy in a way he comes first in my decision making. Is there an area for mums with children who have disabilities?
The thing is, there may be no problem at all and yoy have gone through all this worry for nothing. If you were happy to have the cvs then I think its worth another shot to know 100% xx

Thanks for responding

I didnt know if it made a difference that the NT Measurement was decreasing, as it was this that was causing the high risk, I think I may just be trying to convince myself all is ok but Im worried about the testing :(

There are risks to the cvs that im sure the consultant explained and Im not sure on the stats regarding the lower risk. I suppose you need to discuss it further then decide whats best for you. I would ask myself, If there was something wrong what would I do, Do the risks of the tests make it not worth knowing for sure, Are my risks greatly reduced of there being something wrong (find out via health info) and is it worth going for less invasive screening. X

@ selina13 Your replies are still on here chick? xx
