High BP and panicing!!

Just back from my 38 week appt and my blood pressure is suddenly high, has been totally fine all the way through my pregnancy so now im panicing. Have been suffering from sore heads for the past week or so but just put them down to the weather etc. They checked my urine so fortunately everything was fine with that but can't help but worry. So close now, just wana bubba to get here safely!!

Hey, sorry to hear this. Try and not worry. This won't be doing your BP any favours. Have a nice relaxing night and try and not worry. If you have any other symptoms phone your maternity unit straight away tho... Have you to get a follow up appointment?xx

I wouldn't worry too much at this point, as I'm sure that if the MW had any concerns she would say so x

As long as your urine doesn't have protein they won't worry although they should be monitoring you more regularly if your bp has risen. Mind rose at 37+5 and I had protein, ended up being induced at 37+6 as i was developing pre eclampsia. They are normally only concerned if the high bp is accompanied by protein though x x

Thanks ladies, just went for a lie down and mananged to drop off for a little while. Have to go to the Hospital on Sat morning to get re-checked so that is a good thing that they are monitoring me more closely. On a positive note, my SIL is actually in labour at the minute with my nephew so fingers crossed he arrives and I can go get a cuddle tomorrow afternoon, she was due last Friday!!

That's good they are closely monitoring you hun. Like the other ladies said, there can't be any immediate concern, otherwise they would have done something. Hope all is ok when you go on Saturday. Aw lovely, nothing better than a newborn to cuddle while you're waiting for your LO to arrive x x
