Hi Everyone!!!
Just got home so can only post a quicky....
James was discharged from scbu on monday afternoon but was still on IV antibiotics til last night so we had to stay in til today. It was confirmed as pneumonia but hopefully the antibiotics have been enough to shift it. We have an appt in the paed clinic at the beginning of January and touch wood everything will be ok.
It's been one hell of a mad week.. and WOW - I'm a Mum!!!
Thank you so much for the messages of support and to Hennally and Emmie, who always texted me when I needed a text (even though they had no idea their timing was so spot on - ooooh psychic!!!!) I'll be back later with pics!!!
Some pieces of advice...
1) If you haven't bought/sorted what you need to.. do it NOW!!!! Last Thursday night I was going to write my birth plan - instead I was HAVING my baby!
2) Prepare for the unexpected.. Last week I was saying "I'm breastfeeding, it'll be a doddle" - This week I have a baby who doesn't know how to breast feed because he's been in spec care, mastitis in one of my boobies and now I've got to go buy a steriliser and start expressing in the next 10mins else Jumbo won't get any dinner!!!
3) Enjoy your little bundle - You made that baby in your arms, no-one can make another like him/her.... Don't ever forget just how amazing YOU are for doing that!
Righto, I'm gonna go shake booby!!
