My LO started crawling 2 weeks ago and like any other mum so proud I cried!! However parenting is now really tough ... again! What I mean is when Aiden was a newborn the sleep deprivation and everything being new is hard! But then there's a bit in the middle where u get the confidence in what you're doing, u know your baby, have a routine etc and then all of a sudden, wow they are off and into everything! Usually all the stiff he can't have or that is dangerous! Eyes in back of your head is just so true! Also he's having proper little paddys when I move him away from fire place or tv etc! Anyone identify with this? X

And he doesn't want to sit and play with toys anymore just wants to crawl and and climb on stuff! Which takes some entertaining x

My LO isn't crawling yet, so I have this to look forward to lol

I know that it is going to be hard work, everyone keeps telling me you will be spending most of your time sitting down, then getting up, sitting down then getting up, that he will be into everything.

I guess it's just a case of that, repetition and saying 'no' and that eventually it will get through, but obviously it is not going to happen overnight, esp with a strong willed baby (which we have lol)

Just make sure things that you don't want him having ain't in his reach so he can't break them. If he grabs something you don't want him having either move him away or say no. Charley's still not listening to no, he just smiles and carries on! Lol
The only thing now is you might find he follows you everywhere, I can't even go to the loo without my shadow! Lol

its hard but i let noa get on with it n only tell him no if its something dangerous. I let him learn himself n he hurt himself but seem to learn from it. The few times i do say no i do it properly n i make sure i praise him when he listen x

I don't mind it to be honest. Like you, I was so proud I almost cried and I even managed to get her first crawl on video!

Shes walking/running now and everyone told me Id wish for the days she couldnt move again but it's so good. Youll soon move stuff and get used to it (so much quicker than sleep deprivation!) and you'll just love his independance. :yay:

Thanks for advice!! I said no to the fire place like 20 times this morn and pulled him away and then just now I only said it once and he crawled passed it! He's a bugar for telly and pulling himself onto it! I just don't want him to smash head on the glass stand, as he still looses balance sometimes! X
Isobel I totally agree to bot saying no to everything as u end up sounding just like a broken record!! Should just stick to the important stuff xx

I say ah ah ah to herbie when he go's to do something like climb up the back of my sofa to pull my blinds 9 times out of 10 he stops now when I say it but now the cheeky thing says it himself as he go's to do something he knows he shouldn't the biggest one for me is the dog food and water bowl he hears the minute u put them down and ether spills the water or eats the food erhh ,xxxx

Paige has learnt that shaking her head means no. This means she'll look like shes about to do something wrong, like bash the tv, and stop just before she does it, smiles at me and shakes her head. She then finds something else to do lol. She knows its wrong and likes to tell me that she knows!

Haha lovely stories can imagine them both!! I'm loving it don't get me wrong! But he doesn't want to sit and play anymore and I can't seem to entertain with toys so spend a lot if day pulling him away from stuff and saying no :-(

That phase goes honestly. I remember it well. Like you I felt like a broken record! Don't worry, he'll be at the uber clingy stage soon and you'll wish he was trying to crawl away!

Lizzie's getting to this stage too, all she wants to do is pull at furniture and chew electic cables! I've got 3 stairgates on various doorways so at least I can create a 'safe place' for when I need to go wee!

Lilly pulls herself up to standing on anything! It's a nightmare but it is lovely to watch :D and I identify with feeling like a broken record too, lol.

Xxx
